Operations Generalist-De Smet, SD

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Generalist to join our team in De Smet, SD. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing operations related to corn and soybean products, ensuring efficient processes and effective communication across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review corn reports and complete corn reworks based on orders and demand.

• Review soybean reports and fulfill treating and packaging requests based on orders.

• Manage supply inventory at each site, utilizing weekly inventory counts from warehouses.

• Collaborate with Customer Care to balance product availability.

• Track and report work completed by each site.

• Maintain a working knowledge of the seed industry and communicate effectively with dealers and Legend Staff.

• Assist with inventory management and conduct inventory counts on all products.

• Draft and document procedures for Operations processes and provide training as needed.

• Report and track safety compliance across operations.

• Participate in Legend Seeds-related activities and events.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of the seed industry is preferred.
• Proficient in inventory management and reporting.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Commitment to safety and compliance standards.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some standing and lifting is required. This would require bending and ability to lift to 60 pounds as necessary. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, typical hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional earlier start times, evening and/or weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
